Convert text found in documents, email, websites, and programs into speech. Have the sounds of the Sinhala language identified and transformed into text. Analyze the phonology and phonetics of Sinhala,and integrating all components into the TTS system.
You could have downloaded Sinhala Text to Speech 1.0 from our software library for free. You can execute this free PC program on Windows XP/Vista/7/8/10/11 32-bit. The following version: 1.0 was the most frequently downloaded one by the program users. Sinhala Text to Speech lies within Education Tools, more precisely Languages. The actual developer of the free program is Language Technology Research Laboratoy, University of Colombo School of Computing, Sri Lanka.

While there were some experimental TTS systems by the UCSC for Sinhala are already under work, the aim of this project was to produce one that is of commercial quality. To this end, considerable effort was be spent on quality aspects of this activity.
