Convert text found in documents, email, websites, and programs into speech. Have the sounds of the Sinhala language identified and transformed into text. Analyze the phonology and phonetics of Sinhala,and integrating all components into the TTS system.
Sinhala Text to Speech 1.0 was available to download from the developer's website when we last checked. We cannot confirm if there is a free download of this software available. Sinhala Text to Speech belongs to Education Tools. The most popular version of the tool is 1.0.
According to the results of the Google Safe Browsing check, the developer's site is safe. Despite this, we recommend checking the downloaded files with any free antivirus software. This free program is an intellectual property of Language Technology Research Laboratoy, University of Colombo School of Computing, Sri Lanka. You can launch Sinhala Text to Speech on Windows XP/Vista/7/8/10/11 32-bit.

While there were some experimental TTS systems by the UCSC for Sinhala are already under work, the aim of this project was to produce one that is of commercial quality. To this end, considerable effort was be spent on quality aspects of this activity.
