Description
"T-TECTO," developed by Jure Žalohar, has reached its latest version: 3.0. Those in Education and specifically within Science Tools will find this software indispensable for conducting paleostress and kinematic analysis.
The software supports various Windows OS versions, including Windows XP, 7, 8, 10, and 11. Previous iterations, such as 3.0, and 2.0, have laid the groundwork for the improvements seen in the current release. Users can easily download the program's installers named "T-TECTO 1.1.exe," "T-TECTO 2.0.exe," and "T-TECTO 3.0.exe".
"T-TECTO" is recognized for enabling fast and straightforward analysis of both heterogeneous and homogeneous fault-slip data using the Gauss method. The approach relies on the concept of the best-fitting stress tensor to refine data accuracy.
Free to use, "T-TECTO" offers significant value, especially for students and professionals in geoscience who require reliable tools for fault-slip data inversion.
Pros:
- Free to use, providing excellent value.
- Compatible with multiple Windows OS versions.
- Designed for both heterogeneous and homogeneous fault-slip data analysis.
Cons:
- Limited to Windows platform.
- May require some learning curve for those unfamiliar with the Gauss method.
You may want to check out more software, such as f x -Viewer, Trachtenberg Speed Math or Pocket Stars, which might be similar to T-TECTO.

The principal axes of stress calculated by T-TECTO program are not orthogonal. I think its a problem.
