Description
uGet Download Manager is mentioned in best internet download managers of 2024
uGet Download Manager, latest version 2.2, is a versatile and robust application designed to enhance the downloading experience. Developed by uget.ugetdm.com, this free tool stands out in the Internet & Network category, specifically under Download Managers. The program file name, uget.exe, ensures a quality and reliable download experience that addresses the needs of a diverse user base.
One of the key aspects of uGet is its downloads queue, which allows users to manage multiple downloads simultaneously. When a download finishes, the queue will automatically initiate the next download, ensuring a continuous and efficient workflow. The application's ability to resume downloads is particularly useful for those with unstable internet connections, as it lets users pick up right where they left off without losing progress. However, it is important to note that this feature is server-controlled and cannot be bypassed by any download manager.
Advanced Download Categories enable users to create unlimited categories for better download management. The Clipboard Monitor feature is another highlight, as it prompts to download the copied files whenever specific file types are added to the clipboard. This function works smoothly with batch downloads, making it easier to handle large volumes of files.
uGet also supports multiple protocols such as HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, BitTorrent, and Metalink, ensuring users can download content from a variety of sources. The Multi-Connection feature allows up to 16 simultaneous connections per download, optimizing download speeds by redistributing the load when connections drop or slow down.
Additionally, the program provides FTP Login & Anonymous FTP support and has a built-in scheduler to control download timings. For those using Firefox, uGet offers integration via FlashGot, although the Clipboard Monitor provides universal browser integration.
Other versions of the program, such as 2.1, offer similar functionalities. Still, the latest version 2.2 brings enhancements that make this free download manager a must-have tool in managing web content efficiently.
Pros:
- Lightweight and resource-efficient
- Comprehensive feature set for managing downloads
- Supports multiple protocols and connections
- Advanced categorization and clipboard monitoring for ease of use
- Free of charge
Cons:
- Resume downloads feature is server-dependent and not guaranteed
- FlashGot dependency for Firefox integration
For those seeking a reliable and capable download manager, uGet Download Manager, version 2.2, developed by uget.ugetdm.com, offers a highly effective solution.

Free download manager parsing failure cannot read property 1 null.
SHIMUL, Parsing failure has been repeatedly and increasingly caused FDM to become inoperable. I've dealt with this problem for years. Only solution is to erase the file and not redownload it for some time. Sometimes it works. It's the only program that allows me to control bandwidth of downloads and schedule downloads. This is most important with my satellite, bandwidth limited, based Internet.
