From the developer:
iMac users who tweak their systems using 3rd party hard disks or solid state disks, are often surprised by an unpleasant aftermath: an annoyingly noisy hard disk fan. Fan management in Apple systems relies on temperatures reported by the SMC system. The SMC collects data from external sensors or by reading the internal hard disk temperature in a proprietary manner.

Problems too. How does one uninstall this? No info came with it to know how to do that.
Johnna Hogenkamp,
Never mind.
I downloaded and installed SSD Fan Control and it seemed to be working great until I started playing around with the settings. It soon got stuck and will no longer let me adjust the fan RPM. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling several times and none of it works. I'm left with an annoying low buzzing sound from my laptop.
mmerde, I have the same issue with Macs Fan Control app. None of the custom presets engage. The only preset that works is full blast which is 5500 rpm. So I believe the problem is not within the app itself.
Why does the version 2.13 installer actually install version 2.12?
