Generate virtual memory blocks and run them like real disks in Mac OS X. Check the resulting items and apply them to system operations to reduce the delay of a compilation, image processing, etc. Save the current virtual drive and recreate it or other copies based on your specifications.
The 3.6.15 version of iRamDisk for Mac was available to download on the developer's website when we last checked. We cannot confirm if there is a free download of this app available. The application lies within System Tools, more precisely System Optimization. This free Mac application was originally produced by Michael Parrot. Please check the Mac app with an antivirus before launch as it is downloaded from the developer's website, and we cannot ensure that it is safe.
From the developer:
iRamDisk uses a block of memory to creates a virtual RAM Volume displayed like real disk by Mac OS X. Data into memory are written and read more quickly than the system disk. Move the temporary files into RamDisk may reduce the delay of a process (compilation, image processing,...). iRamDisk is based on Unix commands.
You may want to check out more Mac applications, such as TM Error Logger, HDCleanUp or CPU Speed Accelerator, which might be related to iRamDisk.
